Sambal – Aeroplane & Purple Disco Machine
This collaboration by Aeroplane and Purple Disco Machine is an exquisite mix of steel drums and dance. Both artists have been around for a number of years but this track has boosted their popularity as their summer sounds reach more and more ears.
In Cold Blood – Alt J
Alt J have returned with 2 new songs to be featured in their upcoming album, Relaxer. In Cold Blood feels somewhat fresh and new whilst retaining the old Alt J style as they start to prove that the difficult third album syndrome doesn’t bother them. In true unique Alt-J style, In Cold Blood lyrics feature some lyrics in binary code (01110011), it’s fun, interesting and quite frankly bloody good.
Yeah – Boys Noize
It’s hard to believe this track was released 7 years ago but it’s still as fresh today as it was in 2010. The powerhouse of electronic music, Boys Noize, has swathes of top tracks in their repertoire and has won numerous awards for his contribution to electronic music.
Jungle – Tash Sultana
Aged just 21, Tash Sultana is an Australian musician who started her career as a busker and has impressed at being a multi-instrumentalist, creating every sound on this track herself. The echoey, atmospheric guitar sounds combined with her stunning voice and rhythm create a real melodic laid-back vibe to the track.
MGMT – Electric feel
Electric feel was one of the most popular songs of 2008 and was the second single from refreshingly new sounding MGMT. The songs lyrics are about a wild Amazonian woman with electric currents running beneath her skin. Obviously. MGMT started off as a purely electronic duo and they decided to add lyrics to their songs as a means to poke fun at pop music, but it proved to be quite a popular combination and thus the sound of the late naughties was born.
