Royal Blood fans pay attention, they’re back! – Today’s top 5 tracks

Lights Out – Royal Blood

Royal Blood are back with a brand new single! Lights Out continues with the same emotionally charged, back-to-basics brand of rock that Royal Blood became so well known for. Listening to Royal Blood just feels like no messing about. The duo shot to fame in 2013 after supporting Arctic Monkeys for two shows and receiving some free promo in the form of Matt Helder’s Royal Blood t-shirt which he wore whilst performing at Glastonbury festival. Lights Out is the first of two taster tracks from their upcoming album, How Did We Get So Dark? and if this song is anything to go by, fans of Royal Blood will be very pleased indeed!

It Comes And It Goes – Nero

In 2015 Nero produced an absolute masterpiece album, Between II Worlds, with this track coming from that album. It’s impossible to choose the best track from this album because it works best as a collection of songs rather than isolated tracks but this one certainly gives a feel for the concept of Between II Worlds. On first impressions this track and the album can appear to be a little on the poppy side of dance-electro but listen to this album repeatedly and you can’t help but get sucked in. Go and listen to it now!

Kings Die Like Other Men – Metavari

A beautiful 5 minutes from Metavari filled with soundbites from films and a down-tempo, mellow, calming rhythm, Kings Die Like Other Men is taken from Metavari’s latest album, Moonless. Slowly the song picks up pace as it whisks you along on a contemplative journey, best listened to whilst looking out of a window as the world rolls on by. An interesting producer, Metavari has produced some unique and fresh sounds in his repertoire but is still pretty unknown with his most popular song only receiving just under 59K listens on Spotify so far. Talk about him now and people will think you’re cool… probably.

When The Night Feels My Song – Bedouin Soundclash

Bedouin Soundclash’s 2004 album, Sounding Amosiac, was arguably one of the best albums of the early naughties. When The Night Feels My Song is the most famous song from the album but there is some absolute gold dust on that album that didn’t receive the attention they quite deserved. The Canadian reggae-ska band bought the world a modern twist to the genre with lead singer Eon Sinclair throwing every inch of his soul into the vocals and lyrics. A strong opening song to a cult-classic album.

Flame – Roosevelt remix of Sundara Karma

Some chilled techno-pop now with a Roosevelt remix that makes you feel just a little bit happy inside. Roosevelt is only early in his career but has already supported the likes of Crystal Fighters and Hot Chip whilst releasing his debut self-titled album last year. There’s not a lot you can dislike about Roosevelt’s music, it’s very inoffensive, perhaps to his own downfall. It’s good music, but it’s not going to set the world alight, but does it have to? Of course not, just enjoy some nice sounds for a little while then go back to what you were doing before.
